TAYLOR Swift is a multi-award winning singer/songwriter with a legion of adoring fans — and now her bestie Selena Gomez has revealed what the singer is like behind closed doors.

"She was actually at my house the other day and we were sitting by the fire and I was talking about relationships and business in my life and she just kind of looked at me and was like, 'Selena, if you're the smartest person in the room, I think you're going to be in the wrong room'," Gomez, 22, said during an appearance on US chat show The Talk Friday

"She thinks I should constantly surround myself with people who are going to make me better, that are going to challenge and motive me. It kind of stuck to me. I want to surround myself with those people."

As for rumours the pair fell out due to Gomez's on-again, off-again relationship with Justin Bieber, the Shake it Up singer says don't believe them.

"She (Swift) supports me and never judges me for anything," the former Disney star said.

Gomez previously revealed her bestie "begged" her to move to New York but for now, her heart (and home) is in Los Angeles.
