A FATHER whose six-week old baby passed away has been touched by the support from the internet community after his plea to photoshop her image received an overwhelming response.
Sophia was unable to win the battle against a liver tumour and died in hospital – she never got to see her home. Her grieving father Nathen Steffel never got a picture of her without hospital tubes and breathing aids attached to her body. That's why he took to the internet for help.
The father from Ohio posted on Reddit: "My daughter recently passed away after a long battle in the children's hospital, since she was in the hospital her whole life, we never were able to get a photo without all her tubes. Can someone remove the tubes from this photo?"

In an act of internet kindness that yanks at the heartstrings members of the Reddit community responded in their droves, all with messages of support, sympathy and altered images of Sophia without the tubes.
Some submitted natural images, some did oil paintings, some even created pencil sketches but all came with kinds words of support.

"This is really amazing. Everyone you have made my day. All I wanted was a nice picture. What I received was a lot of love and support from a bunch of strangers." Posted Mr Steffel after spending hours thanking those who replied.
Sophia was waiting for a liver transplant when she passed away at the Cincinnati Children's Hospital.
Mr Steffel was even offered money but refused. "Thanks for the generous offer but no thanks we are not looking for money. I just wanted a picture and what I received was a lot of wonderful drawings and pictures. I couldn't be happier."
It's not the first time the Reddit community has displayed its kind side with Photoshop touch ups being a popular request on the site. From loved ones to family members and even pets passing away many turn to the website for help to enhance pictures that have faded, been torn or need to be 'frame worthy'.
Our faith in the internet community has been firmly reinstalled.
